Art Guidelines Logos, artwork, and photos are great additions to your signage; however, there are some basic guidelines that we need to follow for the sign making equipment to be able to maximize the image and produce a quality product in the end. Dynamic Signs & Graphics, Inc. will accept computer produced artwork via 3.5 inch floppy disk, CD Rom, or via email at . The acceptable formats are listed below with some recommendations and comments. Accepted file types
Formatting If possible, all text should be converted to curves/outlines. This will eliminate any font compatibility issues. If you are not able to convert the text to curves/outlines, please include the fonts as PC True Type or Adobe Type 1 fonts. For full color artwork, it is recommended that a bitmap/raster artwork should be saved at full scale (the size at which it will be printed). Guidelines are that this is typically 100-150 DPI. TIFF files should be 1200 dpi. You can send TIFF files at 600 dpi provided they are no less than 200% of the final imprint size. Additional artwork charges will apply to any orders that require additional design time to separate colors and/or substantially clean art. The charge is $65 per hour. For multiple color imprints, send color separated black and white artwork (one piece of art for each color with registration marks) and a color composite of the artwork. Please do not send artwork containing halftones. When a file is not available, some hardcopy materials can be provided and scanned into the system. Sharp, detailed black and white line art on flat glossy photographic paper will produce the best results. Matte, textured or regular stock paper will not produce good images. Of course if you have any questions about your artwork, we will be happy to assist you in looking at the files and determining the best format for the most efficient production. |
